SINJ, Feb 12 (Hina) - A Sinj resident, R.Z., 32, seriously injured a police officer, M.T., 42, with his vehicle on a road near Otisic. The police officer tried to prevent R.Z. who, having watched the start of the trial against former
Yugoslav president Slobodan Milosevic on television, told police in an anonymous telephone call he was going to Otisic to "slaughter Serbs". When the officer attempted to pull over the vehicle, R.Z. drove onto the opposite lane and struck the officer. The police officer was transported to Split hospital and is stable. R.Z. was arrested and taken to the Sinj police station, Split-Dalmatia County police reported. R.Z. already has a police record. Otisic is a village populated exclusively by Serbs before the war in Croatia. Only several dozen elderly people live in the village today.(hina) lml
