TOMCIC: CURRENT EVENTS IN DISHARMONY WITH RESULTS OF ELECTIONS WITHIN HSLS

ZAGREB, Feb 7 (Hina) - Political events in Croatia at this moment are in disharmony with the atmosphere and the results of the elections at the Croatian Social Liberal Party (HSLS) Assembly, Croatian parliament speaker Zlatko Tomcic said in Zagreb on Thursday. "The things that are happening now, if everything that media says is true, are in complete disharmony with the atmosphere and the results of the elections at the HSLS Assembly," Tomcic told reporters after returning from a three day official visit to Turkey. He stressed he could not comment on the events in detail because he was not in the country for the past three days. He says however, it is obvious that there are individuals to whom at this point the unity within the coalition is no longer important. The HSLS officials on Thursday declined to comment on the possibility that some HSLS ministers would leave the government after the recent re-election of Drazen Budisa as the president of the HSLS. The Croatian economic delegation led by Economy Minister Goranko Fizulic on Wednesday cancelled its visit to the United States envisioned for February 9 to 15 due to "newly established political circumstances in Croatia".
