Turkish President Ahmet Necdet Sezer and Premier Bulent Eceviton Wednesday received Tomcic and a Croatian parliamentary delegation. The delegation yesterday met representatives of the Turkish parliament. Both countries' representatives also tackled regional issues. "We reiterated Croatia's standpoints that we want to live in a stable region", Tomcic said. "We analysed a series of sources of instability in the region, and were given assurances that Turkey will actively participate in the solving of all these issues", he added. The Croatian officials arrived in Turkey on Monday at the
invitation of Turkish parliament speaker Omer Izgi.
Izgi accepted an invitation to visit Croatia in the near future.
Turkish President Sezer is expected to visit Croatia at the year's
end.
The Croatian delegation includes the foreign affairs committee
chairman, Zdravko Tomac, the internal affairs and national
security committee chairwoman, Djurdja Adlesic, the deputy
chairwoman of the inter-parliamentary cooperation committee,
Zdravka Busic, and a member of the economy, development and
reconstruction committee, Tonci Tadic.
The delegation will depart for Istanbul this afternoon and visit
the Croatian consulate on Thursday.
