ZAGREB, Jan 25 (Hina) - Interparliamentary relations between Croatia and Hungary are at a very high level, which is corroborated by the countries' cooperation in rapprochement with the European Union and the fact that Croatia has
joined the quadrilateral initiative Italy-Hungary-Slovenia-Croatia, Croatian parliament speaker Zlatko Tomcic said in Zagreb on Friday. A statement issued by Tomcic's office says Tomcic and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who is on a two-day visit to Croatia, have expressed satisfaction with the signing of a contract on a concession to construct and use a soy warehouse at the Rijeka port and a protocol on the establishment of a joint government cooperation committee. These documents round off efforts to establish the models of future economic cooperation, primarily in the area of road construction and trade, the two officials said. Orban thanked for Croatia's support for Hungary's law on Hungarians
living in neighbouring countries and stressed that by nurturing
their national identity, culture and language national minorities
significantly contributed to the overall prosperity of every
country.
Tomcic said this was why strong support should be given to Croat and
Hungarian communities in Vojvodina, reads the statement.
