ZAGREB, Feb 7 (Hina) - At Thursday's closed session, the Croatian government decided to call an election for the Makarska City Council on Sunday, March 17, 2002. According to the government's media and public relations office, the
government adopted reports by state-owned and mostly state-owned companies for the period between January and September 2001 and business plans for 2002. The assessment is that the results of the companies' business activities in the first nine months of 2001 are better as against the same period the year before. The government representatives in the supervising committees were given a green light to adopt the plans for the companies' business activities in 2002, the statement read. Also adopted was a draft bill on the confirmation of the changed protocol II and a draft bill on the confirmation of the additional protocol IV along with the convention on the ban or limitation of the

Also adopted was a draft bill on the confirmation of the changed
protocol II and a draft bill on the confirmation of the additional
protocol IV along with the convention on the ban or limitation of
the use of a specific conventional weapons with unreasonable
traumatic effect.
Adopted was a draft bill of amendments to a law on river ports.
Also proposed was a decision on granting state guarantees to the
Croatian Bank for the Reconstruction and Development.
The government rescinded a decision in the sale of real estate owned
the Republic of Croatia PAN - Trgopromet d.d. Djakovo.
A report of the Croatian Olympic Committee on the costs of the
participation of Croatian athletes in the 14th Mediterranean Games
in Tunisia was adopted.
The government also adopted a bill on the operation plan for the
autumn sow for 2002.
Also adopted was a draft decision regarding the transfer of tennis
and other recreational equipment to the Croatian Tennis Federation
free of charge.
The government replaced the old and appointed the new commission
for granting concessions for the use of agricultural land owned by
the state. The government also appointed representatives to the
joint commission for the interpretation of the fundamental
collective agreement for officials and employees in public
