ZAGREB, Feb 1 (Hina) - Some measures on the import of oil and oil
products to Bosnia-Herzegovina, which Bosnia's Council of
Ministers passed on Thursday, discriminates against Croatian goods
in relation to goods from other countries and contests the Croatian
road corridors model, the Croatian government said in a statement
Friday.
The government's statement is an answer to Bosnia's decision of
yesterday to bring the number of border crossings, which allow the
transport of oil produced in Croatia, or imported from companies
based in Croatia, down to three crossings: Doljani near Metkovic,
Izacici/Licko Petrovo Selo and Bosanski Brod. At the same time,
such goods which are originally from other countries can be
imported through four other crossings and Izacici, the Bosnian
Council of Ministers decided.
"Croatia sticks by the measures it passed, and it is ready for
improvements without bringing the road corridors model into
question", the statement read.
The statement, further on, said the government supported the part
of the Council of Ministers decision referring to the control of the
quality of goods and the implementation of European standards also
applied by Croatia.
Expressing hope in the development of partner relations with
neighbouring countries, the Croatian government called on the
neighbouring governments for support in the fight against crime and
in efforts for the strengthening of environmental protection, the
statement ends.
