HR-AGREEMENT-Politika BRIEF NEWS BULLETIN IN ENGLISH BRIEF NEWS BULLETIN IN ENGLISH NO. 4515HINA Zagreb, 28 January 2002EU COUNCIL OF MINISTERS RATIFIES INTERIM AGREEMENT WITH CROATIABRUSSELS, Jan 28 (Hina) - The European Union's Council of Ministers in Brussels on Monday ratified an interim agreement between the EU and Croatia by which trade and traffic provisions of the Croatia-EU Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA) went into force on January 1. The EU institutions have also completed the ratification of the agreement, which officially takes effect on March 1. The Council will consider the SAA in about two years' time after all 15 EU member-countries ratify the agreement. Dialogue between the EU and Croatia on the SAA implementation continues this week with a visit by Croatian European Integration Minister Neven Mimica to Brussels on Thursday and Friday.
