SARAJEVO SARAJEVO, Jan 28 (Hina) - A former leader of the British Liberals, Paddy Ashdown, who has been appointed High Representative for Bosnia-Herzegovina, on Monday visited Sarajevo, where he met with the head of the UN Mission in
the country, Jacques Klein. The two officials discussed the future role of the international community in the country and the reorganisation of international police forces, which should be completed by the end of this year under the supervision of the European Union, the UN Mission headquarters said in a statement today. The mandate of the UN Mission ends in December, and the International Police Task Force (IPTF) now in the country should be replaced by police from EU member-states. Lord Ashdown will probably take up his new office in late spring, when the current High Representative Wolfgang Petritsch should leave Sarajevo.(hina) rml
