whole concept of a free trade zone becomes pointless if the visa regime isn't liberalised", said HBK president Nadan Vidosevic. He stressed Croatian businessmen advocated the liberalisation of visa requirements, particularly for the purposes of the development of economic cooperation. Announcing the continuation of talks on a free trade agreement, Vidosevic said the establishment of the free trade zone would boost trade between the two countries to USD1 billion by 2005. Last year's trade between Croatia and Yugoslavia amounted to USD172 million, of which Croatia's export accounted for USD136 million.
