Agriculture Minister Petar Cobankovic sent a letter to Foreign
Minister Miomir Zuzul on 24 December asking him to organise urgent
consultations with Bosnia-Herzegovina on the matter.
Facing protests of local farmers, Bosnia's Council of Ministers last
week decided to suspend the duty-free import of Croatia's food
products and agricultural produce for three months. The duty-free
regime should have gone into effect on 1 January 2004 under the
Bosnian-Croatian free trade agreement.
Cobankovic believes the decision was contrary to a bilateral free
trade agreement
