SARAJEVO, Dec 23 (Hina) - Bosnia-Herzegovina's Council of Ministers on
Tuesday decided on a three-month postponement of the implementation of
the duty-free import regime for agricultural produce from neighbouring
countries, Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations, Dragan
Doko said today.#L#
The duty-free import of goods from Croatia and Serbia-Montenegro
should have come into force on 1 January 2004.
The decision on the delay was made by the ministerial council to make
it possible for competent bodies to take measures in the coming three
months so as to protect Bosnia's farmers and food-processing
industry.
Associations of farmers and unions of workers in the food-producing
industry insisted on the postponement threatening to block border
crossings on 28 December if their requests were not met.
