results of Sunday's parliamentary elections in Serbia, six parties
will definitely enter the parliament, the strongest one being the
Radical Party of Vojislav Seselj.#L#
According to 54 percent of processed returns, some 3,850,000 of a
total of 6.5 million citizens with the right to vote went to the polls
today, the Centre for Free Elections and Democracy (CESID) reported.
According to the returns, the Serb Radical Party won 27.5 percent of
the vote, the Democratic Party of Serbia of Vojislav Kostunica won
17.4 percent, the list of the Democratic Party of the assassinated
prime minister Zoran Djindjic, headed by Boris Tadic, won 12.7
percent, and G17 Plus of Miroljub Labus won 11.4 percent of the vote.
These parties are followed by the coalition of the Serb Revival
Movement of Vuk Draskovic and the New Serbia party of Velimir Ilic
with 8.2 percent of the vote, and the Socialist Party of Serbia with
7.6 percent.
Of the other parties and coalitions, "The Coalition for Tolerance
Canak-Kasa-Ljajic" is the closest to the election threshold of five
precent, Zoran Lucic of CESID said at a news conference in Belgrade.
Nineteen parties and coalitions ran in the elections.
