ZAGREB, Dec 16 (Hina) - The Federation of Independent Trade Unions
of Croatia (SSSH) has reported that in a response to the union

Designate, Ivo Sanader, said he would talk with unionists after the
new government began working in January. #L#
"We wish we could have a meeting before (the first) session of the
government so that trade union federations might give proposals for
the government before it begins working. We, however, hope that the
meeting will be useful for social partnership after the beginning
of the government's work," the SSSH acting president, Vesna
Dejanovic, said on Tuesday.
The SSSH leadership, which convened today, expressed
dissatisfaction with unofficial announcements that the new cabinet
is planning the merger of the labour and social welfare ministry
with the economy ministry. The mechanical uniting of some
ministries will not produce financial effects or improve the state
administration, they said.
