Thursday wrapped up his participation at the World Summit on the
Information Society and two-day stay in Geneva. #L#
Before returning to Zagreb, Mesic visited the European Centre for
Nuclear Research (CERN) with which Croatia cooperates
extensively.
The Centre, located some 30 km from Geneva, was founded in 1954 and
is the world's largest research centre in which Croatia enjoys
observer status. In 1991 Croatia signed a cooperation agreement
with the Centre and is involved in its activity through the co-
funding of special experiments.
Mesic also visited the seat of the World Intellectual Property
Organisation, one of the U.N.'s specialised agencies which has 179
members.
The President also visited the World Health Organisation, where he
held talks on Croatia's health sector reform.
