U.S. federal agents in charge of arresting people accused of human
rights violations arrested 39-year-old Zivota Konstantinovic on
Monday after Judge Ronald Sonom turned down his asylum application,
said the daily.
Konstantinovic, who was a member of Serb troops during the war in
Croatia in 1991, told the judge he had been forced to kill Croats and
take part in ethnic cleansing, the Miami Herald wrote, without
specifying which Serb troops Konstantinovic had been a member of.
The head of the Department for International Legal Assistance at
the Croatian Ministry of Justice, Sanja Stimac, told Hina today
that Konstantinovic was not wanted by either the ministry or
Interpol Croatia.
