Mihajlovic and Lukic, the current chief of the Serbian Interior
Ministry's public security division, submitted to the Serbian
Electoral Commission on Monday the slate for the December 28
parliamentary election.
Mihajlovic heads the slate, while Lukic is listed second. Lazarevic
is at the bottom of the list containing 250 candidates "due to
illness," Mihajlovic told reporters today.
In October, the Hague tribunal accused Lukic and Lazarevic,
alongside generals Vlastimir Djordjevic and Nebojsa Pavkovic, of
war crimes against ethnic Albanians and violations of the laws and
customs of war committed during 1999's conflicts in Kosovo.
There are other Hague tribunal indictees heading slates for the
upcoming polls in Serbia -- Vojislav Seselj heads that of the Serb
Radical Party, Slobodan Milosevic, who is standing trial at The
Hague, that of the Socialist Party of Serbia, while it has been
announced that another indictee, Nebojsa Pavkovic, will run in the
ballot too.
