ZAGREB, Nov 28 (Hina) - The head of Croatia's Geneva-based
Permanent Mission to the U.N., Gordan Markotic, has been elected
chairman of the U.N. Convention on Prohibitions or Restrictions on
the Use of Certain Conventional Weapons Which May Be Deemed to Be
Excessively Injurious or to Have Indiscriminate Effects. #L#
Croatia will also chair the Convention's working groups for
unexploded weapons and mines, a statement said on Friday.
