RIJEKA, Nov 15 (Hina) - The Istrian Democratic Forum (IDF) began collecting signatures in Rijeka on Saturday for a petition concerning issues the party will initiate in parliament if it wins enough votes at upcoming elections.

The questions the party believes should be settled via a national
referendum refer to the servicing of the debt to pensioners in 2004,
an audit of the sale of Istrian land, the direct election of mayors,
municipal heads and prefects, more power to local administration,
and the establishment of a youth parliament on the state and local
levels.
The petition and the party's platform were presented by candidates
in constituency no. 8. The slate is headed by IDF president Luciano
Delbianco.
