ZAGREB, Nov 23 (Hina) - Croatian President Stjepan Mesic, who is waiting for the results of the parliamentary elections at his office in Zagreb in the company of his closest associates and advisors and numerous reporters, has said
that consultations among party leaders on the mandate to form the new government would not be held that soon.

Mesic said he believed that there was no need to discuss the new
premier-designate already on Monday.
He recalled that under Article 97 of the Constitution, the mandate
would be given to the party leader who confirmed that his party held
the majority of seats in parliament.
