OSCE ELECTION OBSERVATION MISSION HEAD MEETS SABOR VICE-PRESIDENT

ZAGREB, Nov 10 (Hina) - The head of the OSCE Election Observation Mission, Ian Mitchell, told reporters on Monday after meeting Croatian parliament vice-president Mato Arlovic that the meeting did not address any incidents during the election campaign, including yesterday's incident in Imotski, where two Social Democratic Party candidates had eggs thrown at them.
ZAGREB, Nov 10 (Hina) - The head of the OSCE Election Observation Mission, Ian Mitchell, told reporters on Monday after meeting Croatian parliament vice-president Mato Arlovic that the meeting did not address any incidents during the election campaign, including yesterday's incident in Imotski, where two Social Democratic Party candidates had eggs thrown at them. #L# Addressing reporters after the closed meeting, Mitchell said that the meeting did not address any incidents, although he was aware of yesterday's incident. The OSCE Mission is dealing with the long-term assessment of the elections, while domestic monitors will deal with their short-term assessment, Mitchell said, adding that there were 19 OSCE election experts in Croatia at the moment. He said that today's talks focused, among other things, on election legislation, voters registration, and the possibility of setting up a permanent electoral commission. (hina) rml
