ZAGREB, Nov 22 (Hina) - The head of the steering committee of the non-governmental election monitoring association GONG, Suzana Jasic, said on Saturday members of electoral committees representing parties that were in the minority in
some areas were being threatened by citizens and members of electoral committees representing parties which were in the majority in those areas.

"We have received reports from several municipalities in Slavonia
and the Split hinterland," Jasic said, adding the committee members
were afraid to speak in public.
This is why GONG has asked the Organisation for Security and
Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), which decided not to monitor the
voting process on the ground, to send ten mobile teams into the
field, she said.
GONG has announced it will field 3,000 election observers on Sunday
to monitor the voting process.
