Croatia currently living in the Serb entity of Bosnia-Herzegovina
has said that the Croatian election law is discriminating because
they cannot vote on the basis of their pre-war citizenship and
residence. #L#
"The voting right of Serb refugees as citizens of Croatia is not
universal and equal, but selective and discriminating, because
their right to register as voters and vote in elections, or rather
their Croatian citizenship and residence they had before leaving
Croatia, is not established according to the population census in
Croatia as it is in Bosnia-Herzegovina under the Election Act," the
association said in a statement carried on Sunday by the FENA news
agency of Bosnia-Herzegovina's Muslim-Croat federation.
The association said that the forthcoming parliamentary elections
in Croatia would not be "free, fair and democratic" because of "the
discriminating election law and policy".
