ZAGREB, Nov 22 (Hina) - The Croatian policemen who have been protesting in front of the government building for 613 days after they were sacked last year have said that they will put their protest on hold. #L# The protesters' leader, Filip Lacic, said at a news conference on Saturday they would wait for the new government to be appointed, regardless of the election winner, so that it could solve their problem and announce criteria under which they were dismissed. The policemen were dismissed after last year's reorganisation of the Interior Ministry. The police said they would submit to the new premier their request for re-employment. The protesters' legal representative Berislav Zivkovic recalled that he had filed suits with the Constitutional Court and brought charges against Interior Minister Sime Lucin for disrupting the protest and for sending the police to intervene against them in September last year. Zivkovic said the protesters were ready to seek justice before international institutions. (hina) rml
