ZAGREB, Nov 18 (Hina) - Milan Gojkovic, age 57, a Croatian Serb who has been sentenced in absence to 20 years in jail for war crimes committed in the Vukovar area in the early 1990s, is in custody in Norway awaiting a decision on
possible extradition to Croatia, a Croatian Justice Ministry official said on Tuesday.
ZAGREB, Nov 18 (Hina) - Milan Gojkovic, age 57, a Croatian Serb who
has been sentenced in absence to 20 years in jail for war crimes
committed in the Vukovar area in the early 1990s, is in custody in
Norway awaiting a decision on possible extradition to Croatia, a
Croatian Justice Ministry official said on Tuesday. #L#
"Croatia requested the extradition of Milan Gojkovic at the end of
September this year after the Norwegian police had arrested him on
an international warrant issued by Croatia in 1997," Assistant
Justice Minister Zdravko Stojanovic told Hina.
The request is being considered by a Norwegian court, which is to
decide whether it will approve extradition so that Gojkovic can
serve the sentence in Croatia.
