A rock-parade set out from Zagreb's Square of the French Republic,
with rock bands playing on floats and calling on citizens to go to
the polls. The parade will end at the students' culture centre
SKUC.
Radio 101 has already started broadcasting the jingle "Close Your
Nose and Vote". Tomorrow, on media blackout day, Radio 101 will put
up stalls in downtown Zagreb to distribute promotional material
urging voters to go to the polls, and clothes-pegs reading "Close
Your Nose and Vote".
Funds to be raised this way will be used to buy incubators for
maternity wards in Zagreb.
Speaking on behalf of some 20 NGOs, campaign coordinators Martina
Staznik and Ivo Marinovic, and Radio 101's Zrinka Vrabec Mojzes
said that "not going to the polls is the worst possible option,
regardless of what one may think about politicians".
