"Despite the atmosphere of resignation among Croatian workers and
politicians' false promises, one should go to the polls," said the
head of the HUS' Zagreb office, Mario Ivekovic.
The union association does not support any party, but it calls on
citizens to vote for slates including candidates like Tonci Tadic
of the Croatian Party of Rights, Snjezana Biga-Friganovic of the
Social Democratic Party (SDP), Jadranka Kosor of the Croatian
Democratic Union (HDZ), and Zdravko Tomac (The Croatian Harmony
Forum).
Among other things, Ivekovic urged members of the new government to
put an end to the trend of growing differences between citizens as
the number of the rich and the poor was increasing and the number of
middle-class citizens decreasing.
