SKABRNJA REMEMBERS VICTIMS OF 1991 MASSACRE SKABRNJA, Nov 18 (Hina) - A memorial ceremony was held on Tuesday in Skabrnja, 20 km inland from the central Adriatic city of Zadar, to mark the 12th anniversary of a massacre of civilians
and soldiers in the village during Croatia's war of independence. On the day Serb forces took the village and during the four-year occupation, Serbs killed 25 soldiers and 55 civilians. Six villagers were killed later in explosions of land mines left by retreating Serb forces, and ten soldiers were killed during the attack to retake the village.
