Speaking to reporters at the HQ of his Social Democratic Party,
Racan said the government had pledged to reimburse students who had
paid higher school fees.
"Why are they going to protest in front of the government, which has
committed itself to returning the money, instead of in front of
those who haven't returned the money yet?"
The president of the Zagreb Student Corps, Petar Bezjak, said
yesterday that unless about 2,000 Zagreb students received the
money by noon on Wednesday, he would join a protest in front of the
government building to be staged on Saturday by colleagues from
Split Polytechnic. The latter are protesting against a government
decision on the integration of Split Polytechnic into Split
University.
