ZAGREB, Nov 7 (Hina) - A Croatian Armed Forces colonel and a professor from Zagreb's Faculty of Physical Education, whom the Office for the Prevention of Organised Crime and Corruption (USKOK) suspects of forging document, fraud,
bribe and selling diplomas and exams to students, have been sentenced to one month in detention, Zagreb County Court reported on Friday.
ZAGREB, Nov 7 (Hina) - A Croatian Armed Forces colonel and a
professor from Zagreb's Faculty of Physical Education, whom the
Office for the Prevention of Organised Crime and Corruption (USKOK)
suspects of forging document, fraud, bribe and selling diplomas and
exams to students, have been sentenced to one month in detention,
Zagreb County Court reported on Friday. #L#
Colonel Nikola Odobasic and Professor Branimir Kules have been
placed in detention due to a threat of influencing witnesses.
Deputy Defence Minister Zlatko Galjeric on Thursday confirmed
media reports of the existence of a diploma forging ring that
includes people from the Defence Ministry, the Armed Forces and the
Faculty of Physical Education in Zagreb.
Galjeric said an investigation has been launched into some 50
people.
It has been established that the professor fixed exams for 17
students of whom 11 are active military personnel.
