Campaign coordinators Martina Staznik and Ivo Marinovic, who spoke
on behalf of NGOs, and Zrinka Vrabec Mojzes of Radio 101 told a news
conference on Tuesday that they regarded somebody's decision not to
participate in the vote as "the worst possible option, no matter
what you think of politicians."
They announced activities aimed at raising the awareness among
women and young voters in urban communities since these two groups
account for most of the abstentions.
These activities will be organised on Friday and on Saturday, when
the media blackout takes effect 24 hours before the parliamentary
election.
A rock parade will be organised in Zagreb on Friday with rock bands
playing on floats. The event will be used to urge citizens once
again to go to the polls.
