Since only 36.7 percent of eligible voters went to the polls until 7
pm, an hour before polling stations were closed, CeSID declared the
elections unsuccessful. For elections to be valid, 50 percent plus
one voter must go to the polls.
According to CeSID's first unofficial results, Serb Radical Party
candidate Tomislav Nikolic won the most votes - 1.6 million or 46.5
percent, while the candidate of the ruling DOS coalition and
election favourite, Dragoljub Micunovic, won 35.1 percent of the
vote.
