97km-long Zagreb-Gorican highway was formally opened to traffic on Sunday. The construction of the 13.6km-long stretch between Novi Marof and Varazdin, about 80km north of Zagreb, cost 855 million kuna, or approximately 114 million euros. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Public Works Minister Radimir Cacic said this was the first highway fully completed during the term of the present government. Cacic said that the highway was important for the economic development of the Varazdin area and Croatia as a whole.
