Kokic advocated all-round assistance to Vukovar, which suffered
massive damage in the 1990s war, and proposed that the
international community, which he said was party responsible for
the town's past suffering, should reconstruct the demolished parts
of the town so that reconstruction funds from the government budget
could be used to revive the local economy.
