Antunovic made the statement after talks with President and Supreme
Armed Forces' Commander Stjepan Mesic about the status of the 204th
Vukovar War Brigade.
Asked to comment on today's report in a daily that an active major is
the chief of security of Croatian Democratic Union leader Ivo
Sanader and if he would face any sanctions, Antunovic said that
officer was not an isolated case.
The ministry has inspected all electoral slates and established
that about a dozen persons are involved in different ways in
electoral activities, which is contrary to the law on military
service, she said.
After the necessary documents are obtained from the State
Prosecutor's Office, disciplinary proceedings will be initiated
against them, Antunovic said. Disciplinary proceedings have
already started in some cases, and they could result, among other
things, in the cessation of active military service, she added.
