According to a press release, issued by the cantonal prosecutor's
office, the trial of Sakrak was carried out by a court in the
country, after the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former
Yugoslavia (ICTY) transferred the case to Sarajevo this July.
The ICTY allowed also the domestic court to try Mustafa Hoto, who
was a member of the same unit of the Bosnian army as the defendant
Sakrak.
The two soldiers from that unit, the 39th mountain brigade, are
charged with the killing of 38 Croat villagers in Grabovica.
The ICTY Prosecution has issued an indictment against Sefer
Halilovic, on the basis of his command responsibility for the
Grabovica massacre.
Retired General Halilovic was the chief-of-staff of the Bosnian
army at the time when the crime was perpetrated in Grabovica. His
trial will commence in The Hague on 19 January.
