SISAK, Oct 27 (Hina) - A leader of the Croatian People's Party (HNS), Radimir Cacic, has said that the case of the fugitive general Ante Gotovina, wanted by the UN war crimes tribunal, cannot be the reason for not granting Croatia "a
visa to enter the European Union in 2007 or 2008".
SISAK, Oct 27 (Hina) - A leader of the Croatian People's Party
(HNS), Radimir Cacic, has said that the case of the fugitive general
Ante Gotovina, wanted by the UN war crimes tribunal, cannot be the
reason for not granting Croatia "a visa to enter the European Union
in 2007 or 2008". #L#
According to Cacic, who held a news conference in Sisak on Monday,
"Croatia has invested maximum efforts in the Gotovina case, and the
best thing which Gotovina can do is to talk with the tribunal's
investigators and present his defence before the tribunal,
particularly in the light of the fact that, as far the HNS knows,
some sections of his indictment do not stand".
