MOSTAR, Nov 1 (Hina) - The Croatian Democratic Union of Bosnia-

(Croats living outside Croatia) for the coming parliamentary
elections, as the HDZ BiH is dissatisfied with the Croatian HDZ's

from Bosnia-Herzegovina, an official of the HDZ BiH said. #L#
"We have expected to be given one of the first three places at the
slate, but the HDZ of Croatia is offering us the fourth position (on
its slate for the Diaspora) for our first candidate. According to
all predictions, only three candidates from the Diaspora are likely
to be elected at this parliamentary vote," the same official said
speaking on condition of anonymity.
He revealed that the HDZ's slate for constituency No. 11 will be
headed by Zdenka Babic-Petricevic, retired Croatian Army (HV)
general Kresimir Cosic and Florijan Boras.
Other political parties will include a larger number of former and
incumbent Bosnian Croat officials in their slates for the
Diaspora.
The Croatian Peasant Party (HSS) will nominate a former rector of
Mostar University, Marko Tadic, in its slate for the Diaspora. The
Croatian Bloc and the Croatian True Revival (HB/HIP coalition) will
propose Marko Tokic, a former HDZ BiH official, who had to step
down, according to a decision of international community's High
Representative Paddy Ashdown, because of his engagement in the
establishment of the Croat self-rule in spring 2001.
According to some sources, the so-called list of Croatian Defence
Council (HVO) generals is likely to be one of slates offered to
Croats outside Croatia. This list is to be headed by Zeljko
Glasnovic, Stanko Sopta and Mile Cuk.
Local businessmen in Herzegovina, brothers from the Lijanovic
family, will also propose their slate.
At ballots for the Sabor held so far, votes of Bosnian Croats have
been decisive in the election of MPs representing Croats living
outside Croatia. At the last parliamentary elections, of 127,000
voters who went to polls abroad, 110,000 were Croats in Bosnia-
Herzegovina.
