ZAGREB, Oct 30 (Hina) - Croatian Peasant Party (HSS) leader Zlatko Tomcic has said that his party, should it have the opportunity, will insist on the setting up of a government of competence to promote knowledge as the basis of
development.

Political governments are a matter of the past for us, Tomcic said
at a video-link conference, calling on "learned people" to join the
HSS, which he said was ready to integrate knowledge into its
projects.
At the conference, which could be viewed simultaneously in Zagreb,
Osijek, Split and Rijeka, party members introduced several
programmes, including an electronic education system, which is a
project of the school of the future.
They also announced the establishment of a bank for agriculture and
small businesses.
Party members also presented a number of programmes on agriculture,
including a program of development of autochthonous Croatian
products and an irrigation programme.
