"Nothing spectacular happened, because these names have already
been published on our notice boards," Pancic told reporters, adding
that this "internal publication" did not violate anyone's privacy
and that he had consulted lawyers about the matter.
"If someone thinks their privacy has been violated, they will have
to prove in court what kind of damage was inflicted on them," he said
in a comment on announcements by some veterans that they would sue
the ministry for making their names public.
Pancic said that the parliament did not back the government's plan
to reveal the names of all those who were allocated housing or loans
by the government.
"The public has the right to know," the minister said, urging that a
list of all people who had solved their housing problems with the
help of the government should be made public.
