The event was organised by the South Eastern Europe Media
Organisation and the Croatian Journalists' Association's
International Centre for the Education of Journalists.
The meeting is partly funded by the Austrian Foreign Ministry and
focuses on freedom of the media, contemporary journalism in the
context of European integration processes, and the role of the
media in the democratisation of society.
Welcoming participants on behalf of Croatian President Stjepan
Mesic, his advisor Igor Dekanic said dialogue between the most
responsible media figures could contribute to Croatia-Serbia
cooperation.
OSCE representatives in Croatia and Serbia are observing the
event.
