countries' excellent relations which could be a foundation for even
better political, economic and parliamentary cooperation. He
stressed Croatia and Slovakia shared not only a similar history,
but also a similar future because they were going through reforms
and had same objectives in foreign policy.
Tomcic said Croatia was about to face dynamic events in foreign
policy -- the country will soon submit its answers to the European
Commission's Questionnaire, ICTY chief prosecutor Carla Del Ponte
will submit a report to the UN Security Council and parliament will
hold a debate on an exclusive economic zone in the Adriatic. He said
parliament had a significant role in Croatia's drawing closer to
the EU because it adopted laws which were in accordance with the EU
legislation.
Schuster said that in the law adoption process, emphasis must be
laid on the quality and not the quantity of laws. Speaking about
Slovakia's experience's, Schuster said the laws must be well-
prepared in order to serve its primary purpose - the well-being of
citizens, said the statement. The Slovak president said his
countries supported the entrance of countries to the EU.
At the end, the two officials agreed that good bilateral relations
