MURTER, Sept 28 (Hina) - Illegally constructed buildings in the Kornati National Park will not be pulled down, but efforts will be made to fit them into the area if possible, Environment Minister Ivo Banac told a press conference in
Murter on Sunday after visiting the park.

Banac said there was no point in knocking those buildings down if
there were other ways of solving the problem, particularly in the
light of the fact that the government was also partly to blame
because it had only recently adopted a physical plan for the
national park, which was established 23 years ago.
According to available information, there are 130 illegally built
or rebuilt houses in the Kornati National Park.
The minister said that the situation in Kornati was not so dramatic
as it was in some other areas such as Vir, Pag or Korcula, where he
said strict measures would be taken.
