"Only that way can Croatian tourism develop properly in the
future," the prime minister told a forum on tourism in the Istrian
town of Porec. The meeting was organised by Croatian Radio and
Television and the Croatian Chamber of Commerce.
Racan announced stricter inspections and additional measures by
the government to promote spatial planning and infrastructure
construction in line with sustainable development objectives.
He reiterated that tourism and infrastructure were priorities in
the government's strategy.
The meeting is being attended by Deputy Prime Minister Slavko
Linic, Economy Minister Ljubo Jurcic, Environment Minister Ivo
Banac, Chamber of Commerce president Nadan Vidosevic, members of
parliament, local government officials and more than 350 people
working in the tourist industry.
