ROME, Sept 25 (Hina) - A Croatian delegation, headed by Labour and Social Welfare Minister Davorko Vidovic, attended a two-day meeting of labour and social welfare ministers from European Union member- and candidate-countries, which
was held in the Italian city of Lucca on Thursday.

meeting of labour and social welfare ministers from European Union
member- and candidate-countries, which was held in the Italian city
of Lucca on Thursday. #L#
Vidovic told the conference that Croatia was on the level of
developed countries when it came to the protection of children.
Although Croatia was invited to the meeting as an observer,
Minister Vidovic participated in discussions on the equal
footing.
The meeting was attended by 29 European ministers -- 15 ministers
form EU countries, 10 from EU candidates, as well as ministers from
Romania, Turkey, Bulgaria and Croatia.
On the margins of the conference, Vidovic held several bilateral
meetings. He met the host and chairman of the EU ministerial meeting
Robert Maroni who expressed interest in Croatia's reform of labour
legislation.
