ZAGREB, Sept 4 (Hina) - A Croatian Defence Ministry delegation led by Minister Zeljka Antunovic will participate in a conference on a joint security policy of countries in Southeastern Europe, due to take place in the Bulgarian
capital of Sofia on September 5 and 6, the ministry said in a statement on Thursday.
ZAGREB, Sept 4 (Hina) - A Croatian Defence Ministry delegation led
by Minister Zeljka Antunovic will participate in a conference on a
joint security policy of countries in Southeastern Europe, due to
take place in the Bulgarian capital of Sofia on September 5 and 6,
the ministry said in a statement on Thursday. #L#
The conference will focus on four subjects: expansion, management
and division of responsibilities in confronting security
challenges in Southeastern Europe; transatlantic relations and
their impact on regional security; risks of integration: threats by
organised crime and corruption; and elimination of stereotypes:
innovative responsibilities related to new security risks.
Minister Antunovic will speak on transatlantic relations and their
impact on regional security. She is scheduled to meet her
counterparts from Macedonia, Albania and Turkey on the margins of
the conference.
The conference will be attended, among others, by NATO Secretary
General George Robertson, Director of Studies at the European
Policy Centre Fraser Cameron, Council of Europe General Director
for Political Affairs Klaus Schumann, Director of the Frankfurt-
based Peace Research Institute Matthias Dembinski, Bulgarian Prime
Minister Simeon Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, and the defence ministers of
Romania, Macedonia, Austria, the statement said.
