He called a news conference ahead of an exhibition 25 Hungarian
companies will stage at the coming Zagreb Autumn Fair.
Suilt recalled that the Hungarian oil company MOL had bought a 25
percent interest in the Croatian oil company INA for US$505
million. Hungarians also bought two hotels, Primosten and Jelsa,
for EUR50 million, while the Hungarian company Dunapack invested
EUR23 million in the construction of a carton and packing materials
factory in Zabok, he said.
Last year's trade between the two countries amounted to $388
million, of which 310 million was generated by Hungary's exports.
In this year's first six months trade reached $233 million, up 36.2
percent from the same time last year. In said period 1,500 Hungarian
companies exported $194 million worth of goods, an increase of 38
percent, while 700 Croatian companies exported $38.7 million, an
increase of 27.5 percent.
