ZAGREB, Sept 15 (Hina) - The Croatian minister in charge of war

Earlier on Monday the government's inner cabinet decided not to
publish a list with the names of disabled Croatian soldiers who were
allocated apartments and housing loans, but to have the parliament
adopt a law enabling the publishing of this, as well as other lists
of budgetary beneficiaries. The government's legal experts have
estimated that publishing a list with the names of soldiers who were
allocated flats could trigger numerous lawsuits.
Recently Pancic himself proposed to the government to reveal the
names of veterans who have been given flats or housing loans, and
last Thursday he handed the list with some 8,000 persons to the
government.
"I believe that the government's suggestion on the legal solution
which should regulate the contentious issue (the publishing of the
list) will contribute to creating a clear picture in the Croatian
society on who was given flats or housing loans in the past 10 years
and what was the reason for entitling them to it," Pancic said.
He expressed hope that the necessary law would soon be adopted.
