SPLIT, Sept 3 (Hina) - There are about 32,500 disabled war veterans

Veterans Minister Ivica Pancic said on Wednesday after visiting the
Regional Psychotrauma Centre in the southern seaport of Split. #L#
Pancic stressed he would not abandon plans to publish the names of
all persons who were given military flats.
He said his ministry could not be solely responsible for problems
with fake disabled war veterans. "Responsibility for that lies with
institutions which enabled those persons to acquire disabled
person status and rights they are not entitled to."
Pancic declined to point the finger at any state institution,
saying the main problem was "the inherited mentality of bearing no
grudges and the stance that someone else will (settle things)".
The minister said that 3,000 of 10,000 people suffering from post-
traumatic stress possessed firearm licences and as many as 9,000
had driver's licences. This, he added, is irreconcilable with their
condition, which entitles them to some and deprives them of other
rights.
