Government money and farmland have to be in farmers' hands, Tomcic
said opening the 11th annual international cattle and economy fair
in Gudovac near Bjelovar in northern Croatia.
Agriculture and Forestry Minister Bozidar Pankretic recalled a
budget revision envisaged doubling funds for loans for capital
investments to 120 million kuna (EUR16 million), with the
possibility of his ministry funding up to 25 percent of the loan
amount.
The three-day Gudovac fair, the largest such event in Croatia, has
pooled more than 300 exhibitors from 13 Croatian counties and nine
other countries. Organisers expect 50,000 visitors. As part of the
event, the Croatian Cattle Centre will mark 90 years of activity.
