During last week's parliamentary debate on the said law it was said
it would be difficult for local self-government units to respect
the set deadlines, so the government prolonged the deadline for
another six months.
Under the law, municipalities and towns are required to draw up
measures for industrial waste management by January 1, 2005 and
measures for municipal waste management by June 1 the same year.
Should local self-government units fail to set locations for waste
disposal sites by the said deadlines, the government will do it in
the next six months.
